Compare to the $ billions in public funds + full regulatory power to expand Canada's fossil fuel production & exports with CCUS — a high-risk gamble on an unproven cleanup tool. This was also throwing a bone the NDP to support passing the budget.

The 1970s were prosperous for most Canadians. This was no accident. Progressive taxation, investment in public goods, strong labour institutions made it that way. 40 years of trickle-down #neoliberalism dismantled it. #Budget2025 goes even further. We need to rebuild our Socially-Conscious System.

Believe 40,000 public sector jobs cut through buyouts, attrition is good, i.e. won't be mass layoffs? Think again! It's still 40,000 less people to provide us public services. Really think they'll be modernizing operations, streamlining program delivery, recalibrating programs? That's corporate BS.
