Love this
Not a headline many folks are used to seeing about a Dem candidate. Iowa Auditor Rob Sand, a bow hunter, shot a deer and donated the meat to a local food bank. Sand is running for #IAGov.

Gotta enjoy the good days
There were 13 elections last night for a statewide office.

Democrats swept all 13.

That’s 1 in NJ. 3 in VA. 2 in GA. And 7 in PA (all judges, retention and regular).

They won 12 of the 13 races by double-digits, with margins up to 24%. The only other race, the tightest, they won by 6%.

@nbsp1618.bsky.social Cross Bronx Expressway sounds fantastic. What a worthwhile project. It sounds like it may play best at 3 players, followed by solitaire. Does that align with the play testing? It's often just 2 of us when we play, so I'm curious how good of a fit it is for that number.

Amidst the barrage of “Democrats have to…” articles, this one resonated.

“To win elections, Democrats have to win back at least some voters who have no interest in becoming more politically engaged.”

I have a lot of respect for @chrismurphyct.bsky.social, but this quote shocks me. The entire focus of the Harris campaign and its ads was that a second term would be different, no guardrails, no one to stand in his way. How could the party not have been prepared?

Democrats Shouldn’t Run From the Fight Over Deportations
They can still win, and the stakes are too important to give up without trying.

Progress.
Another pretty big move down in Trump's net approval today. He hits a new low (again) of -6.7 after pulling in net negative numbers from even his most friendly pollsters.

Disapprove: 51.6%
Approve: 44.9%

Excellent new album from Myra Melford music.apple.com/us/album/179...

"...The three artists show their seriously expansive sonic palettes in a cohesive whole that is as probing and expressionistic as Twombly’s art." jazztrail.net/blog/myra-me...

The next great campaign platform is a campaign to limit presidential power. A weak, ineffective, dysfunctional Congress has helped bring us to this point.

The Albums app is one of a handful that I rely on every single day. I love it so much that everyone I know knows how much I love it 😆 Now it has real support for playlists, too.

And the announcements are great reads as well. albumstheapp.substack.com/p/albums-61-...

There’s a great Bob’s Burgers episode this season about nostalgia and drive-in theatres that reminded me of one of my favorite jokes as a kid.

Did you hear about the guy who died at a drive-in movie? He went to see Closed for the Winter. 🥁

That would be a quality short story title, too.
