Keep in mind, this is not a well trafficked car street and it terminates at HCC, so removing this bike lane doesn’t benefit anyone meaningfully, it just makes every other aspect of living here worse. This was the only real connection between downtown and Hermann park (our Central Park)

This is just like visionzero, under Turner we had a realistic actionable plan run by experts based on data, whitmire is just a snake oils salesmen making us spend more for worse outcomes

It’s incredibly frustrating that our representative acquired grant funding for west Alabama street and the city is deciding it’s not going to build any bike lanes but will use the grant money to repave the street anyway. I just don’t see how this won’t make the city look like a terrible partner

I just hate how even TXDot is like “yeah shared use paths need at least 10ft”, like even TXDot gets it but the mayor doesn’t. It’s like he’s never been to Buffalo bayou on a Friday evening

What I genuinely don’t get about Texas republicans is that like they complain but then don’t do anything to address what they’re complaining about. Like if you only look at this logistically there is physically not enough jail space but they don’t talk about infrastructure just complain about people
