I think lose, die and change go into the same fantastical category. But reaching out to a person who we consider our ideological opposite usually results in realizing we’re not as different as we thought. We don’t want to do this and I’m starting to believe that’s because it’s not instinctual.

I’ve come around to thinking that no one wants world peace. We want the opposition to lose or die, we don’t bother trying to understand them. If we can’t practice it in our own communities, I’m not sure we deserve it.
