The problem is that DMs are few and far between as it is in table-top, relatively speaking, and relegating DM to being responsible to spawn monsters, or even take control of them instead of describing scenes for players to interpret, seems a thankless task to me.

Much better for AI to do DM's job.

Same thing but in 3rd person view mode (press down on left thumbstick to toggle 1st / 3rd). Right thumbstick press toggles smooth vs snap turning. And smooth locomotion on left stick uses the waist pose as the forward movement direction. Head-oriented movement I find disorienting / vexing.

Yeah I figured it was about control, but there is a Vulkan driver feature whose purpose it is to build/update BVHes on the host CPU, they just didn't implement it or support it.

They could keep format / secrets opaque this way, and reduce frame time by a decent amount (0.5-1.5ms in my engine).

I'd love to see how that code looks, and really hope DLSS-RR or NRD will support DoF one day, so it can be used for path traced games.

Realtime and physically accurate path-traced DoF could be really neat in VR with high speed eye-tracking (there are ET modules that poll at 1 Khz now apparently).

I asked Nvidia peeps about DoF for my path tracer and the issue is the denoisers don't understand what to do with this kind of signal, (yet), so it only works in accumulation mode.

DoF in PT looks great though, and only a couple LOC to implement (wider aperture instead of pinhole camera model)

I knew it was possible to do this in realtime on the host, Nvidia folks told me it was too slow but most PCs have tons of unused / wasted CPU cores sitting idle while BVH construction / updates are a huge bottleneck in ray tracing. Blackwell apparently improves AS construction a lot for Megatextures

I did this not to be mean, but to explain that I stand with everyone, who, for whatever reason, need the block feature to have a safe and happy online experience. I salute even those who blocked me! Use it. It's your right, life is too short for needless angst from randos you'll never meet.
