I thought about that today when a colleague refused to read a word in the slides Talking about ableistic Language and good alternatives. I could read the words, but my blind colleague could not.
At the same time it's her trauma learnt experience and forcing her to read out loud would not be ok. 🥹

It's ok. I DO need them. I have hated my glasses since day 1 at 10 yo. I tolerate them now.
A friend of mine at 12 "wore glasses saying it was only for fashion because it made her look intelligent" I found it weird-but cute. She wears glasses still today. Maybe it was just coping? Abd it's still ok
