They've been cutting tournament promos for a while. Before Nats last year, ever single player at a PQ, RTN or Skirmish got a special promo. Not amazing cards, but EA playables. Now it's a GEM pack. And sure that might mean Marvel Prism, but it's probably actually a Liquidate.

I know it seems real consistent. Try it. You'll be amazed at how much joy setting up your crippling crush and drawing 4 reds is. :D
December 10, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Farvo exists. Turn 0 Imposing into Showtime putting crippling crush in arsenal. Turn 1, send fridge then bang: 13 dominate, discard two cards. Follow up with whatever. Another 12 dominate. Say GG.

To answer you question, the fact that we have heroes confuses it because it's not as tight a definition as say "Splinter Twin".

Is Boltyn an aggro deck? Sometimes. A control deck? Sometimes. A midrange deck? Sorta. A combo deck? Sometimes.

Verdance: Midrange, yes. Combo, occasionally?
December 10, 2025 at 3:55 PM
I'm not trying to yuck your yum. I love the idea of finding better definitions than ones that barely applied to MTG in '99, nevermind today.
December 10, 2025 at 3:51 PM
Maybe teklo, maybe not. Still, you've got so many axes there as to be basically unusable in normal discussion.

"Nuu is a tempo, multi/linear, decelerating hero with fatigue end game."

Cool.

Should warrior have a more defined identity to press power into? Yes. Maybe its the theoretical gain resources on hit space? Is that an identity? Doesn't feel like it. And Pirates do it too. And Brutes do it too. And Guardians do it too. And Runeblades do it too. Etc.
December 10, 2025 at 12:59 PM
And yet, for good or for ill, that was their identity. It was what they were known for and as. And before Hunted, other classes did not do the same. No other class had a weapon pre-buff. Zero. None. Now assassin does. It's kind of as simple as that.
December 10, 2025 at 12:57 PM
We’re talking identity here. Warrior identity was a threefold weapons, reactions and fridge. Now if you ask what warriors are about it’s “weapons focused”. And Mario is doing it better.
December 10, 2025 at 12:47 PM
They had reactions, but until Nuu (and later Mario) theirs were not as good as warrior’s best. Afterwards that swapped. Similarly, they had daggers, but the daggers with a spice, not the main meal. With Mario it’s daggers first.
December 10, 2025 at 12:39 PM
Assassin has been stealing warrior’s lunch since Nuu made people think Assassin was the attack reaction class. Now they’re the weapon one too.

There’s a realistic chance we get six months without any (non-gravy) Illusionists next year. Cant help with the runeblades, though.
December 10, 2025 at 8:59 AM
Believe it or not, it does happen.
December 6, 2025 at 3:17 PM
I sorta give sigil of suffering a pass, even if it is functionally a 0 for 5 d-react. Probably needs to go, but theoretically can be countered.

But yes, Reduce? Nonsense.

Or that Aurora got more LL points that Florian despite getting less wins.
December 2, 2025 at 11:41 AM
Psst. Double check your numbers: your LL points table and graphic have a lot of disagreements in numbers. No idea which is 100% correct, but it's not both.

Autumns touch. And a sneaky one: to the point.
November 28, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Landing burn ups are a terror from the blaze side. Running shock charmers is also just annoying.
November 26, 2025 at 5:57 PM
I won’t speak the strategy, but it is a skill issue. You should be mildly favoured.
November 26, 2025 at 5:56 PM
One of our winners literally did that the next weekend.
November 25, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Palantir with go again is terrifying. Any of the airships that can be anywhere from 5 to 8 power with an onhit of discard a card means it becomes a forced 9 block. etc.
November 25, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Giving any and all your cards disruptive onhits or free go-again would be devestating. It would take Puffin to the absolute apex of the meta (though you'd probably end up playing no boost). As for the second half, it's more disruption and gold gen in Marlynn, a deck that's already good.
November 25, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Oh boy. Do I have something to tell you about brutes.
November 24, 2025 at 11:09 PM
I mean, that's good. But I think there's a gap between "these decks are really good" and "people hate these decks, and will run a campaign against them."

This isn't even a fab thing. Aggro players in TCGs hate control decks and scream for the bans at a rate outside their usual impact.
November 24, 2025 at 11:53 AM
You can, but you have to use damage prevention effects. The discard off of Shelter from the Storm or Mental Block, instants like Take it on the chin, cards like Calming Breeze, etc.

(Cindra is flicking because it counts as a chain link where something hit for Mask of Momentum.)
