It boggles my mind that how a 20% inflation doesn't pull his approval ratings the ground. Biden couldn't survive a 5% inflation rate. It implies that Trump could command popular support in the aftermath of ruined economy. That's dangerous if true.

That's the curse of living in the cucoon of polite society which these ivy leagues are a part of.
You and your husband are providing antidote against the future exploitation by folks like Trump.

Some contractors died by suicide follwing the non-payment.

I have lived in three different categories of pol systems. Let me tell you that each has its own flaws and strengths, but no one can withstand an electorate that's disillusioned and propagandized. US has many flaws, but its government, more often than not, is efficient and useful.

India, Hungary, UK, Italy say otherwise. It's a mental depravity to categorise systems only into Parliamentary and Presidential. No two Parliamentary systems are similar and same goes for Parliamentary systems too. Some are hybrid. Then there is the issue of decentralisation.

True, individual citizens have 0 options but if enough of us came together to address it we could fix it. So far all I ever see are grey haired sign holders and angry social media posts- individuls trying to get someone else to solve the problem. Corruption & tolerance of it are two sides of a coin.

That vision, at least for a foreseeable future, necessitates not voting for any Republican.

He is a non-MAGA, supports SS, against oligarchy and that's enough for now. Being a anti-neolib didn't help Biden much.
March 23, 2025 at 6:27 AM
No he isn't.

Biden's job is to execute the duty as per the Constitution. His duty is to abide by the Constitution. It ain't to usurp the power which the Constitution doesn't allow. Defending democracy is a higher ideal duty of which is conferred upon citizens of US (*it's abstract duty btw, not in Constitution)

Biden: I am usurping the power of the electorate in order to protect the electorate from the usurpation of power by the other guy whom the electorate elected.

Trump won the election and by denying Trump the right to be the POTUS after his win would've been a greater crisis. He would've become a bigger and worse version of a person whom he wanted to prevent folks from; The folks who elected Trump.

I didn't want him. I wanted the other lady. But you need to ask this question to yourself.

Also, I think the left wing is as vulnerable to the allure of aesthetics as Right Wing, if not more. Cases of Fetterman and to some extent Elon are examples of that.

Absolutely. I agree.

America for you! Two completely diverging realities living in America. Being urban, I don't imagine such things.

I hope you're right, but I ain't that optimistic. The last ten years have given me little reasons to be optimistic about this nation.

If I believe these figures, which I doubt, it seems the 10% inflation rate doesn't bother the Rus population much. Pliant and subservient media also plays a significant role in these popular ratings(*if we believe them). If he is that popular, why does he arrest folks like Navalny? Fickle support
March 23, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Trump's foremost goal is to completely dilute the layering of our military.

Furthermore, despite the flaws of Modi's party it ain't fascist in any sense of the word.
March 22, 2025 at 9:25 AM
You ain't considering one factor: Modi's party ain't far right party. His aim is not to dismantle the state capacity. Yes, hus party is motivated by some elements if Reaganism, but they aren't wilful destroyers. They also try to operate under the idea of welfare state. GOP ain't any of that.

Right now, is Putin popular? I know he has remained popular for decades, but I don't think that's the current status.

What will SAVE Act do?
March 22, 2025 at 8:54 AM
But we all are discounting one factor taht is crucial in making POTUS unpopular- MSM. Have we all forgotten the Afghan fiasco and media's role in pulling Biden underwater for the first time.
