I'm also not a fan of being auto opted in to new features which amount to invisible timeline censorship. How about telling me about the features and I'll decide what changes to settings, if any, that I want to make?

As a discerning reader, I don't need social media platforms to label potentially "rude" posts and hide them from my timeline.

If I don't like what someone I follow is saying, I'm going to unfollow and/or block them.

Fascists Fear Mockery Most. Trump Proved It.
ABC caved after Trump’s FCC threatened them and Nexstar chased a $6.2 billion merger. This is not just cancel culture. It is blatant corruption.

The post I responded to about Bill Budge's Pinball Construction Set reminded me about Bill Budge's released pinball game Raster Blaster using the same tech, which I discovered many years later was a version of Williams' Firepower. No wonder I liked playing it as a kid.

I finally bought a copy of DJ Hurricane's album The Hurra, largely because Now You Do, which I originally heard on a compilation album, slaps. I'm so glad I got this album; one it's good, two the random cameos from the Beastie Boys! This made for good Saturday afternoon listening.

Roxanne Shante's message of the day paraphrased:

Some people bring happiness wherever they go.

Some people bring happiness whenever they go.

Damn.

Today's license plate spotting: "ACURATE". There's levels to this type of humor.

I'm only going to do it if it's not busy, but I think my new amusement when going to Taco Bell will be entering funny first name last initial combinations for my kiosk orders. The latest one: Anonymou S.

Gigs in the Davis or Sacramento areas, especially during the summer, give me the I'm getting too old for this shit, Riggs vibe. Not because of getting older, but because the sun resembles the sun in Super Mario 3 and my body no le gusta.

A thought from grocery shopping in the candy aisle today: I recall when the so-called "shareable" candy bar size was the regular candy bar size. I used to think it was a distortion from growing up and having larger hands. But it's always been about corporate profits.

BK2K is one of those tables where I'm singing along with the background music and quoting the quotes while playing. Turn that shit up.

Iced Kicker from Dutch Bros was extra satisfying after today's very warm gig with Noise Violation. That plus car A/C to help avoid heat stroke haha. Also trust me on the sunscreen (bonus if you got that reference).

Did you know someone reverse-engineered the Weather Channel computer system from the 80s/90s and now you can generate your own private weather channel for your location?

That said, it seems like Musicolet is behaving better out of the box without having to muck with system or accessibility settings at all. Wondering if Folder Player has developed a flaw with newer phones...At least a same solution seems to be in hand now.

TIL about the Sound Amplifier Android phone setting. Touted as an accessibility option, it apparently also in some cases can be used to work around a bug whereby headphone volume is capped unnecessarily and annoyingly low. Noting this for future reference.

At yesterday's Picnic Day, I got to officially play with 3 bands (Noise Violation, USF, and Humboldt (one song for the latter)), along with various other song shadowing, I also received a lovely treat bag from the UCD bari section while playing with USF. Very sweet, much appreciated.
