I would like to be able to go out without strangers just grabbing my wheelchair then screaming at me when I object. Besides the intrusiveness, this can break a powerchair and I very much doubt they would pay for a replacement.

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.
You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

Zie vandaag veel over deeltijd werken, maar weinig over het afschaffen/ontmoedigen van flexibiliteit. Weg hybride werken en allemaal terug naar kantoor.
Vasthouden aan conservatieve ideeën over werken werkt niet. Meer mogelijkheden standaard inbouwen voor brede participatie wel.

Op weg naar een medische afspraak zie ik aan bijna elke lantaarnpaal een omgekeerde vlag halfstok hangen. Wat een vreemd, verdeeld land zijn we geworden.

Exactly! All means all in the fight for equity for marginalised groups.
Being able to authentically "be" and participate in society regardless of race, disability, sex, lgbtqia+ and others is the goal. It's not a zero sum game where one group is more "deserving." We all are.

It's easy to forget, or not even think about, the weight of expectations, masking, stereotypes or even existing within a space that "others" you. Structures and contexts don't just appear, we design and act within them. There's a legacy of choices made.
