The Greenlink West Transmission Project is hiring desert tortoise biologists for 8 weeks to survey for the line in Amargosa Valley/Beatty area, Nevada. This is the lowest pay offer we have ever seen for consulting biologists leading us to wonder if the quality of work has been compromised.

These pics are about 3 miles from the Greenlink West Amargosa Substation, now under construcrion by NV Energy on BLM land. (you can see the dust in pic 3) After this, the line will head northeast through Crater Flat. We found this desert tortoise in its burrow very close to the planned project.

We estimate that the The Greenlink West Transmission Project will remove about 1,200 Joshua trees from its path from Kyle Canyon to Cold Creek in Southern Nevada. We met a crew of consulting biologists who have been putting flags around them all.

Rough Hat Clark County Solar Project approved

This project will have grave impacts on the already declining Mojave desert tortoise. They expect to move 114 adult desert tortoises and will probably end up crushing 3 times as many juveniles .

The BLM is getting ready to sign the Record of Decision for the Western Solar Plan. Very unpopular plan will weaken regulations for solar developers who never care about the resources they damage.

The contractor for the Greenlink West Transmission Project, Logan Simpson, now has about 10 archeologists on the Amargosa River surveyling for archeology sites that are about to be destroyed by the construction of the project.

The Rock Valley Energy Center is a 10,000 acre solar application in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. Endemic arthopods, burrowing owls, kit foxes and sweeping open views. The project would need about 3,000 acre feet of water near Ash Meadows.

We are taking a lot of photos in this location. NV Energy will be blasting and bulldozing this location next year for the Greenlink West line. About eight 180 foot power poles per mile with a 600 foot wide bulldozed right of way. The hills will be blasted.
