Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon gives the best performance in all of Star Wars, and one of my favorite performances in anything I've seen. There's so little she can openly express for most of the show, but each little look, gesture, and line reading overflows with feeling and intention. She's riveting.

Having a lot of women isn't what makes the show great on its own, but it does tell us something about the *kind of great* that it is—what it's interested in, what its revolution is about, who's included in the world it envisions fighting for. It's a world I want to live in.

Star Wars has always been comparatively progressive when it comes to its female characters (I don't think Princess Leia had any contemporaries in 1977), but it's remarkable how many of the most important characters in ANDOR are women—and how completely distinct they all are from one another.
