I had lessons from age 7-12. Absolutely despised practicing though -- and I was one of those who played better when I didn't practice every day. Drove my parents nuts.

(I was that child. My first piano stopped playing new pieces for me because I would just play what she did rather than what was actually on the sheet 😂)

That's a good read. Isn't hitting down across the board though? How much does that factor into this?
