I never got a July 4 puzzle yesterday. All that came up was July 3 despite numerous refreshes, and this is what I get when I try to play today. Same thing happened on 7/3 -- the only puzzle I could get was 7/2. There's a problem somewhere, it appears

I'm not so sure about that. See the two grafs with the word "already" highlighted. They seem to imply that the states are to verify citizenship of everyone who is already registered
i) the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, consistent with applicable law, ensure that State and local officials have, without the requirement of the payment of a fee, access to appropriate systems for verifying the citizenship or immigration status of individuals registering to vote or who are already registered; (ii) the Secretary of State shall take all lawful and appropriate action to make available information from relevant databases to State and local election officials engaged in verifying the citizenship of individuals

They really are beyond stupid. A friend of a friend is in manufacturing and said this in a Facebook discussion:
I own a manufacturing business. All this chaos is destabilizing my industry. This is the worst 3 month period I've had since the covid lock down. Prices skyrocketed during the supply chain disruptions, and never dropped back down. Now, I'm being hit with pre-emptive price hikes, in anticipation of these on again/ off again tariff threats. The main material I use is not manufactured in the US. Coupled with the nose dive consumer confidence has taken, my customers have scaled back on all projects, so the work load has died out. It's a disaster. Who wants to do business with a country that is completely unreliable, when they can take it somewhere else that has a stable goverment, with competent leadership?

Not that I've noticed. It's not completely devoid of any smell but what there is is innocuous.

Just came across this in an Athletic story about Burnes's ties to Arizona
home parks, and the Florida traffic makes it unrealistic for players to commute to their respective camps. Burnes' wife, Brooke, gave birth to twin daughters on June 28. The couple already had a son, who turns 3 in March. For Burnes, a resident of Scottsdale, a city in the Phoenix area, the possibility of living year-round at home was a big part of the Diamondbacks' appeal, according to sources briefed on his decision.
