Recueillement devant la tombe du Soldat inconnu sous l'Arc de Triomphe.

En ce 11 novembre, nous honorons la mémoire des soldats morts pour la France.

🇫🇷 Paris ne les oubliera jamais.

I am once again finding myself inspired by the audacious design of these NTCK posters for their production of Macbeth.

Gas stoves emit methane, nitrogen dioxide and fine particulates at levels known to contribute to asthma and cardiovascular disease.

🧪 NEW STUDY: The annual indoor health cost of a single gas stove = $5,258

A big part this is from childhood asthma.

That "clean" gas stove? It's costing you a fortune in health.

I planned to ignore Frankenstein but immediate praise from people I respect caught my attention, so I saw it.

And I hate it. In this I see nothing interesting about the novel or its author. Just an aimless rehash made needlessly Christian and Victorian that centres men and their father issues.

Just vibing to this irate man yelling into his phone in forceful but not profane Arabic when he abruptly switches to English to shout « Get your fuck out of my phone! » and hangs up.

10/10, relatable.

If Universal Pictures weren’t cowards they would give me a million dollars to make a Jason Bourne prequel set in the early 1970s about deprogrammed US military vets protesting the Vietnam war called Borne on the 4th of July wait shit they already made a fourth film never mind.

us gov: damn it, John M. Possible, did you really go rogue this time?

jmp: maybe 🤭
I love the Bourne series because it's just the government waiting a few years and going "you know the worst sleeping bear we have? I have the best idea."

Mission Impossible also rules. It requires you to believe the government thinks THIS time he went SUPER rogue for really reals this time.

I won’t comment on the boycott, but I will say that half the reason I prefer Asian markets is none of the workers seeming like they have been badgered into acting like manic pixie retail automatons.

The American obsession with fake nice is creepy and annoying.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Watching French news and we are just … playing clips of top US political figures saying Mamdani will be disastrous for NYC/the US while a list of each person’s fraud and sexual assault charges scroll on the screen?

Wildly surreal.

I wish everyone luck in all the upcoming elections. We all need it. I want yours to turn out well, I want you to do well, I want you and your family to be safe. I want you to be able to look ahead to tomorrow with hope not apprehension.

If you need me I will be having a panic attack until March.

How am I meant to feel sane in a world where a politician is called a communist for suggesting ride share drivers should make at least minimum wage?

I urge everyone to disregard the film which is a bloated waste of time and money, and please enjoy the Electric State book and the delightful TTRPG adaptation which the original artist/author worked on.

What does cowardice call to? Because for 15 years I have watched generations of women peeping about afraid to seem too feminist, and any feminism is going too far, within societies that view female rights and dignity as not only negotiable and disposable but as an inherently offensive proposition.
Gillian Wearing’s statue of Suffragist Millicent Fawcett, 2018, Parliament Square, London. The words are a quote from Fawcett on the death of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison, killed when walking in front of the King’s horse at the Derby,1913, to highlight the women's cause.
