At a time when families in our community are celebrating the first night of Chanukah, Jews in Los Angeles and around the world are painfully aware of the tragic and senseless attack against our community in Sydney, Australia that has killed at least 15 people so far, including children.

Had a great pre-Thanksgiving visiting our firefighter’s at station 84 (a Girvan family tradition!) and packing a sorting food at our West Valley Food Pantry (boot included) 🦃 🥧

On Indigenous People’s Day, we acknowledge that the land we occupy is cared for and still inhabited by the Fernandeño Tataviam, Tongva, and Chumash people. May we work to have a deeper understanding of the importance of teaching respect and appreciation for those who came before us.

I love the San Fernando Valley. That's why I want to make sure government works for the people it represents. As a lifelong West Valley resident, I want to protect the community I grew up in.

Joined SEIU 721 as their endorsed candidate to kick off the Yes On 50 campaign. We must defend our democracy and send a strong message that we will not allow our voices to be silenced. I will always fight for democratic values.

The numbers are in! I’m thrilled to announce in just four months, our campaign raised over $125,000 — all through community support, with no personal loans. Our main opponent raised under $100,000 in six months.

Every week, I hear from neighbors who want homes that are affordable and accessible, in neighborhoods that are thoughtfully planned - not hastily approved…

Had the pleasure of stopping by Fire Stations 72 & 93 to drop off some pizzas as a small token of appreciation to our LAFD for keeping us safe this July 4th. Be sure to say thank you to our firefighters if you see them in the community!

Happy Juneteenth! This Freedom Day marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned that they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Lincoln.

Los Angeles is a city of resilient, courageous people. Diverse in story, united in purpose. And at this moment, we choose each other. So if you're feeling overwhelmed, you're not alone.

As leaders, we must stand with and protect our immigrant communities from this administration's cruel targeting and provide critical resources, education and support.
