Just finished the first half of Book of the New Sun and, at the risk of sounding like a SFF boomer, I'm truly astounded by the literary depth of those books compared to modern novels. I'm sick and tired of lore! Tell me a goddamn story worth thinking about!

I love that my last post (almost a year ago!) was about Deadhouse Gates, meanwhile I've just now finished The Bonehunters. I'm gonna be reading these books for another eight months at this rate 🫠
