if your readme is an angry screed about using mercurial instead of git because rebasing is evil, ... I guess I hope you're intentionally filtering out people who don't want to deal with that energy

a perennial classic: updating a design doc because shit has gotten messy and kind of complicated, trying to fit The Situation into a state diagram, and finding that we should have started with a state diagram in November

oh dear, the visibility menu is a modal now. That's... I see why but that's annoying.

Wonder if anyone's measuring whether that affects post visibility usage.

If this is a thing that interests you: Starfleet Academy is available on SkyShowtime now, at least here in .nl

(the small intersection of "would probably enjoy watching it", "lives somewhere Paramount+ doesn't exist", and "doesn't care enough to pirate it")

Reflect Orbital wants to destroy the night sky to deliver "sunlight as a service". SpaceX wants to destroy Low Earth Orbit to launch one million "AI datacentres"

The only way to formally protest these two ideas is to file a comment with the US FCC, which is horribly complicated, but the […]

A plea for all graphical application developers: please give my cursor a place (many places) to rest where a hover popup won't obscure stuff

Regardless, though, the everything-app concept is, I'll argue, an inherently corporate idea. We don't need to reproduce that in trying to de-Discordize our lives.

is it just me or is VS Code and/or Microsoft's plugins removing simple quick-fix features in favour of LLM-handled ones?

Online store, at checkout for a powerbank with a built-in cable: have you considered these accessories?

Heated gloves are amazing. Soothing to arthritis, they can make bitter cold winter days tolerable.

The main reason I suspect they are not more popular is the annoying matter of keeping them charged. It’s really easy to forget to turn them off.

What if the […]

What disturbs me is the total lack of urgency and confidence in these “reporters” as soon as Ben simply describes what they are doing “so you are reporting this person so they will be removed from the country” they put all of the responsibility on him (one caller says “isn’t that what we are […]

Playing Little Rocket Lab, a "Stardew Valley except instead of a farm it's a Factorio". I'm enjoying it a lot but boy do I wish I could rearrange my factory without time passing

I don't really play Factorios, have always been more into the Zachtronics model, but I don't hate this one so far.

Heads up: Tusky 32 may not play nice with (Treehouse?) glitch, it's failing to load posts for me when any of them are quote toots
http://codeberg.org/tusky/Tusky/issues/5399
Post views don't load when quote toots are present (glitch 4.3)
### Detailed description Just updated Tusky to 32.0 and found that my profile no longer loaded any posts. Profile description (name, bio, follows, ..) is fine, but the posts just show "An error occurred" with a retry button. When I removed the one quote toot in my recent posts, they load again, ...

"it's always the last place you look", hardware debugging edition: turn on TV set-top box. No video, somehow, but audio's fine. Try apps on the TV, those are fine. Turn the set-top box off and on again. Leave it off for half an hour. Check if holding the power button resets it. Different cable […]
