Russia's war has been a terrible trigger for the far right in Europe. They are all over Europe.
Portugal’s far-right Chega group secured its place as the country’s leading opposition party last night, when the final results of this month’s legislative election were confirmed.

Ultranationalist lawmakers now control over a quarter of the seats in the country’s parliament.

Great news. A viable Syria must be built so that years of destruction and tears are not repeated and so that radicalization does not gain ground.
Today, we took the decision to lift our economic sanctions on Syria.

We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, inclusive and peaceful Syria.

The EU has always stood by Syrians throughout the last 14 years - and will keep doing so.

Unfortunately, they are unaware of the potential cost of common defence and security. The EU already has NATO and the EU is more valuable as a soft power!
77% of Europeans believe we should have a common defence and security policy.

We are confronted today with extraordinary security and defence challenges. To meet them, we aim to ⬇️

A meaningless and hostile endeavor, while Russia is waiting for a war, Greece's attitude towards a NATO country, which is an EU candidate, will serve no purpose other than weakening EU security.

There may be realists who think that such humanitarian aid is a waste of money, but it can be seen as an early move to avoid possible migration crises. Every American move in the Middle East is a bill for EU and a trigger for challenges.
We are stepping up our support to the Palestinian people.

€1.6 billion until 2027 will help stabilise the West Bank and Gaza.

The EU will invest in essential infrastructure while delivering humanitarian aid and support for refugees.

Trump's foolish policies are somehow increasing the influence of the #EU more than ever before. If the former allies of the #US unite under the umbrella of the European Union, the world could witness a new hegemon.
Carney: "The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over."

Trump must be out of his mind. Economic wars lead to mutual poverty. Especially if you are against your allies. Unfortunately, US has chosen to destroy its long-term profits for short-term threats. Loss either way!
I deeply regret the US decision to impose tariffs on EU automotive exports.

Tariffs are taxes – bad for businesses, worse for consumers, in the US and the EU.

The EU will continue to seek negotiated solutions, while safeguarding its economic interests.

Europe must be ready for any threat, at every level of society.

Today, we present a strategy to better anticipate risks and prepare response, step up civil-military cooperation and work closely with partners.

Because the best way to face threats is to stay ahead of them.
