(Oct 24–26) Attended our very first AACS conference, where we organized a panel titled “Transnational Imaginaries of Superiority and (Dis)Empowerment.”

Our brilliant chair and discussant, Jiwon Yun (Yale University), offered such insightful comments and helped spark amazing cross-study discussions.

I really like how the JEMS Editorial Team has such a strong sense of ceremony, sending out this important decision announcement early this morning—on the very first day of October! Looking forward to its official publication and to sharing these major findings from my dissertation project

ASA 2025 in Chicago was my best ASA conference experience since 2019. I was honored to be a panelist in two sessions:

2. Inequality and Diversity among Asian Americans and Beyond

Like many friends, peers, and colleagues, the inspiration from sociologists like Michael Burawoy is the reason I am where I am now.

Although fewer students participated in the course evaluation this semester compared to previous years, reading their comments still made my Monday!
