While reading Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune, a fantasy book about discrimination against children with magical powers, I came across this gem. I guess truth is at least as strange as fiction.

I've always been a reader and get my materials from a variety of sources: library, book store, friends. But I never kept track of my reading. So I bought a reading journal and will be keeping track of all the books I complete. So far this year I've read or listened to 5 books.

I'm listening to Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. It's a futuristic novel written in 1993 but is set starting in 2024. The themes of climate change, corporate greed, and income inequality causing a dystopian society are frighteningly familiar.
