This church is unusual as it had lots of visitors. This is because it was used as a setting in Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula. Saint Mary’s in Whitby, North Yorkshire was founded around 1110 although its interior dates chiefly from the late 18th century.

Black and White. Taken leaning out of the carriage window and looking down the length of the train. The track runs towards and under a distant stone built bridge through the centre of the photo. To the right the train windows carry reflections of the platform and railway carriages on the opposite side. The train carriages were built in the early 1900s and are largely made from wood. One of the carriages behind the platform on the left has been converted to provide holiday accommodation.
