My grandmother was a left-wing Jewish radical and I wrote "Red Dybbuk" to honor her. That story is part of THE HISTORY OF SOUL 2065, included in the Mythic Delirium celebration.

Walking down 55th St. in Brooklyn, I passed a playground and 2 homes playing loud danceable music from 3 different cultures. If I lived next door to any of them, I probably would have been annoyed, but walking down the street, it was a cool experience.

Some personal news: I’m back in the newsletter game.

The Verge and I are proud to announce the launch of Regulator, a weekly newsletter for Verge subscribers that covers the fights between Big Tech and Big Government.

I was recruited to contribute to this; not sure when (or if!) it will appear, but I'm sure all the other writers will be great!
Please subscribe to a newsletter I'm editing for @theverge.com. Every Sunday, our writer of the week will break down one story, going deeper on what they know best. It just might be your new shared obsession. www.theverge.com/the-stepback...

I just gave away a mini-washing machine that we bought back in 2020 when the lock-down had closed all the laundromats. I haven't used it lately, and we're trying to downsize, so I thought it someone could use it. It was only a washing machine, nothing sentimental. But still, I feel sad.
