codys just a bum. codys this, codys that, codys me, bro. let me be me. | by day I help political campaigns. by night I curl into a ball | be kind to yourself
As an autistic with an unhealthy obsession with politics/news it’s incredibly difficult at this point to care about anything. The pattern recognition kicked in a while ago but the fact we’re finally at the stage where potus can do whatever they want on a number of levels really takes all hope away

I find it so comical how the women in the Trump admin all make sure to wear a cross necklace while on TV lol it’s rather pathetic

For a political nerd the Mamdani campaign is a shining city atop the hills. Whether it be their art/logo designs, social media style, the candidates message discipline, and inability to get put in a box, they have just about everything. With the working class engaged anything is possible

very easy to see what is happening. trump will run for a third term, he’ll try to bring the dispute to federal courts, where his election denying judges will rewrite the 22nd amendment to mean it only refers to “consecutive” terms.
This is becoming the standard line for Trump judicial nominees: All of them will say only that Congress "certified" the election, which translates from Polite Republican Lawyer as "Trump should have been reelected and only lost because of Democrat voter fraud" ballsandstrikes.org/nominations/...
Senate Democrats Are Letting Trump’s Judicial Nominees Off the Hook
Trump's nominees gave some eye-popping answers in their written questionnaires. Why didn't Senate Democrats ask these questions in person?

Ranked choice voting has more than one benefit but most importantly a healthy dynamic. Just look at Mamdani and Lander. Absent RCV, Lander doesn’t become a folk hero in progressive spaces, doesn’t raise his overall profile as much, and it diminishes the toxicities we see in political attacks

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Lutnick: "It's time to train people not to do the jobs of the past, but to do the great jobs of the future. This is the new model where you work in these kinds of plants for the rest of your life and your kids work here and your grandkids work here. We let the auto plants go overseas."

the country is sleepwalking into full-on authoritarian rule while we sit at our desks, harvest the fields, and serve the rich because god forbid we are in the streets and losing our jobs for not showing up. when losing your job means more than losing your rights, they have already won
