Our 1937 nickels were round, but this one has 12 sides.
It’s likely a test piece for the brass-alloy coin that would become our wartime “nickel” and the only example we know of. #FridayFunFact

For all you error coin collectors, here is one of only two known Canada/Newfoundland🍁 10-cent “mules” for 1871—both in our Collection. A “mule” has sides from 2 different coin dies.
Despite the error, this coin circulated for years.
