On his first day in office, Zohran Mamdani revived the Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants and intervened in a major slumlord bankruptcy case on tenants' behalf.

Mamdani and his team are showing the country what real economic justice looks like. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tCkZ1jszYcQ

I honestly don’t think the USA will survive trumpism.

I would love to leave but don’t have a ton of money. I won’t be able to retire if I stay here. There’s no hope any more.

The tariffs wiped out our profit sharing. We make things in the USA. Manufacturing. I also teach and that’s vilified.

I really need out of the USA.

In a healthy democracy, there would bipartisan Articles of Impeachment on the floor of the House by tonight

But we are neither a healthy democracy nor, I would argue—given the end of our separation of powers and our rule of law—a democracy at all anymore

Trump is trying to destroy this country on behalf of Putin. The media is complicit. I never thought I’d see this.

It’s such a no-brainer to do this. It would solve so many problems. Spot on, Kay.

Mahmoud Khalil expressed his political point of view peacefully.

That’s supposed to be permitted in a democracy.

If this egregious assault on civil liberties stands, what’s to stop Trump from arresting American citizens who support any cause his regime doesn’t like?

New data from the US Treasury reveals that federal spending was $603 billion in February, which is $36 billion HIGHER than February last year under Biden.

This suggests that DOGE has done nothing to cut spending.
Trump's first month showed $36 billion more in spending than last year
This February's monthly statement showed federal payments that were $36 billion higher than last February's.

Sad. Sad for minorities and special needs kids. Sad for those against eugenics..
RIP U.S. Department of Education. Education Secretary Linda McMahon introduced herself to department employees with an email calling on them to join her in a “historic final mission” to downsize the agency and shift control to the states.

This is one of the most shameful days in U.S. history. A weak, corrupt, deceitful, compromised Kremlinist U.S. president recruited his Yarvinist VP to gang up on a heroic ally on live TV. It devolved into a shouting match.

Why? This report explains _exactly_ why:
The Birth of the Trump Doctrine Lies in the 1987 Recruitment of Donald Trump By the KGB During His Trip to Moscow That Year
How Trump responded to his recruitment remains unclear. What is clear, however, is that it shaped his entrance into politics and his foreign policy in a way the world now ignores at its peril.

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA.

Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps.

Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems.

See how this works?

It’s going to take violence. That’s my fear. I don’t see anything else working. It’s going to take the military restoring order. Or some courageous republicans to flip parties.
None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

Canceled my
Amazon Prime today. Long overdue, but I hope I’m not the only one.

We have been switching away from Amazon a lot lately and have found there are almost always cheaper alternatives.

Fuck Jeff Bezos.

The FAA is close to canceling a $2.4 billion contract with Verizon to overhaul the communications system that serves as the backbone of the nation’s air traffic control and is awarding the work to Musk’s Starlink. Follow the money and see where it goes.

This is so frustrating because this is another obvious, verifiable truth and the wrong people continue to get the blame.

Wake up, world.
Just an FYI: Medicaid fraud is rarely perpetrated by beneficiaries. The fraudsters are almost always the doctors and CEO's that administer Medicaid. For example: when a doctor charges the government $600 for an $8 breast pump and pockets the cash and the third party administrator takes a cut.

Attention working-class Americans:

Republicans’ new budget does NOT include no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, or no tax on Social Security.

Instead it protects tax handouts for billionaires and makes way for the largest Medicaid cut in history.
