Like most southerners, we’re taught to put blood family above all else. That’s part of the reason Southerners are so insular and inward looking. But, MY family is my husband…full stop no one is above him or his safety. And I’m not going to let people gaslight me into thinking everything is ok.

A moment where facts and good governance are passé and cruelty and kakistocracy are embraced. It’s a recipe for failure. Failure as individuals, failure of progress, and failure of democracy. This is a tenuous moment in history.
