Afaik you can't get diagnosed with SDAM ATM cus it's not in the DSM. And yeah it is. I follow the YouTube channel mindblind and she talks about it a lot which is nice

This is partly why I get unreasonably annoyed at the memification of the aphantasia thing because it’s a tiny sliver of an evolving area of study, and people have popularly calcified it into what’s essentially a horoscope
