Saturday, got $2 to my name because the systems in Sweden are dreadfully slow and unpredictable in aiding you with money even when you are a working member of society doing things right, I brush my teeth in the morning, and one tooth decides to snap and break.

Merry christmas :D

Updated my Arch to 6.18 today, all-AMD system, is it just me or did performance genuinely go through the roof for especially Monster Hunter Wilds?

I'm no longer dualbooting into Windows, it's all linux from now on, that's how much better gaming became on this day! Just gotta get Zenless rolling, hm

Ever grab an old laptop, because you need to set up a little automated machine for a week?
And try a few varieties of linux in it, including MX?
Only to find it's still too god-awful terrible slow and useless?

Celeron N2800s with 2gb ram should be better than this, Atom N455 felt faster, wtf.

Does a country have the right to defend itself? Yes.

Does that country still have to abide by laws, rules and regulations, especially those concerning warfare? Yes.

Should the UN be dumped for being a toothless amputee tiger when acting against these most undeniably terrible nations? Oh, god yes.

Best effin purchase made this year was the ThinkPad X230. No backlit keyboard but thinklight is nice, i7 model, the battery is surprisingly healthy, screen is superb, strong sturdy reliable.

I just want to give it the stupendously rare dock with a BR drive, if BR films can be viewed in linux.

ThinkPad X230 first impressions compared to the X100e:
- Looks and feels like a serious business unit aimed at people wearing suits.
- I feel sturdiness, weight, cost
- Great screen, is this IPS? Got the i7 powered one.
- Boots quickly, feels rapid in response, nice to type on.
- I love it so much.

Wanted an encounter with a dragon, a proper mountain-sized dragon. Could not figure it out. Not my style to have a dragon via magic morph into a humanoid no matter how elder it is, feeling it should be natural-science accurate, and why would a dragon disgrace itself and become a humanoid even temp?

A semi-minty ThinkPad X230 of the rare i7 model has been given the BUY IT NOW button-press. Farewell to my old lumpy Nvidia gamer laptop.

We've been talking to our Windows computers forever.

Especially when they crash and burn for no reason, or force-install something without your permission and then announce it's going to restart in a minute, or when it chokes on trying to display a 20 file folder w/o thumbnails or ridiculous sizes.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Delayed pain and inflammation from injury, is it a known symptom of neurological disease?

Had that with my fibromyalgia since forever.

Here and now, it took two days and a few hours for right elbow and everything outward to tell me that it was a very bad idea to shoulder that heavy ladder.

Felt like doing a #ThinkPad photo, X100e depicted. Going to put it up for sale and snag an X230 *maybe* come paycheck, to modify with an x330 screen, seven row board, etc. Compactness and ThinkPadness is important to me and preferably having all ram in slots.

"sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root" doesn't have the same ring to it as "delete system32"

It's a day that ends with y, ready to remind you of how bad the Nvidia in Linux shituation is.

We need somebody to make their board believe sales to AI-believing megacorporations would increase if they started caring about the home-users.

To whom it may concern, MX Linux was the only way I could play 1080p videos smoothly on a Thinkpad X100e running an MV-40 that's several times faster than Netbook Atoms.

Next in line to try was Puppylinux. Now I gotta grab a 4gb DDR2 SODIMM pair and replace the backlight and it'll be maxed out.

Props to all the SteamDeck community wizards cracking out improvements every week, making me want one even though there's barely any game time left in life outside of weekends.

Can you tweak Kdenlive to be less atrocious to razor and align clips with than an early 00's piece of software?

Open source leaders should debate something actually important and related to open source instead.

My sternum is visible.

Hell yeah to weightloss from eating, living, sleeping, and working better.

Time to replace this December 2023 userpic with something more up to date.

Ok.
Use BTRFS.
Use snapshots for backup to save your rear.
Man that was a mysterious headache but easy to solve.

Heatwave.
My wifi was uselessly slow, many sites unreachable.
Changed the modem from 5ghz priority to 2.4ghz priority.
Back to full speed and functionality.

Huh?

Despite owning a 7" Nanote Next (with downsides of not working with any form of Arch linux + ridiculously sharp 1200p screen that my eyes cannot handle unless DPI boosting),
I crave a Thinkpad x120e or better in the same form factor, or the most powerful reliable 11" Macbook Air.

Sate my G.A.S :(

Another month with Windows 11, another massive set of warnings to NOT UPDATE OR YOUR PC MIGHT END UP BRICKED FOR REAL sent out by manufacturers.

There needs to be an international class action lawsuit against Microsoft for the most gross incompetence.

Do I have the distribution options correctly understood?

Switch 1: digital, full game on card, incomplete game on card requiring download.

Switch 2: digital, full game on card, incomplete game on card requiring download, game key card requiring full download a'la dongle, single-use code in a box.

Rakkaat Suomen kansa,

What is the state of littering, garbage, trash on streets and roads? Recently walked through Torni for a project and it was so strangely clean and gorgeous, compared to Ruotsi.

Is it similarly clean in Helsinki? Been 30+ years since I last went there, hope to return in fall.

Windows 10 support ends in October but people act like It'll uninstall itself.

What should happen is that it gets security updates only, for a few years to come.

However, considering Microsoft's declining competency and increasing greed, it may not get any security fixes ever again.
