I think Dems pull off VA and NJ governorships and CA 50 passes. I'm going to be optimistic and say Ds retain 2 on the PA Supreme Court. I'm not SO optimistic about the VA AG, but I bet Ds eke it out too; I don't think Virginians are in the mood to pretend civility is still a thing.

The difference between how the Tea Party was covered in the New York Times ("TWO THOUSAND PEOPLE SHOWED UP!!!!") and how they covered No Kings yesterday ("We don't, um, don't report numbers. Only vibes. And the vibes weren't, you know, newsworthy vibes.")

Neil Gaiman sailing along as a beloved genre writer for decades and then, just shy of sixty, suddenly having five television shows in production AT THE SAME TIME, only to have it blow up in his face as people suddenly interrogate allegations against him, is a very "Sandman-style" ironic wish trope.
