… how, in 2025, did a company decide that we didn’t need to see the balance on our transit cards when passing through a gate instead of having to check elsewhere to know if we need to load more money on them the next time we rode?! That’s a fail that shouldn’t have made it past the design phase.

Why are these new gates so slow? The old gates reacted fast enough that I didn’t have to break my stride when trying to catch an incoming train or transfer to an imminently departing bus. Now I have to tap, stop, hold, wait, and it’s like a 5 second process instead of a 2 second one.
