It would be nice if the regular business of the senate could be interrupted to address this
Basically: I don’t think people understand that 36 hours from now it’s possible that America will have a formalized system for abducting enemies of the regime and stashing them in foreign gulags, indefinitely.

Linkedin started out ok, then immediately became annoying. Now it is just a cesspool - and is now suggesting people like these for me to follow. How exactly is this intended to advance my professional life and career? What a colossal waste of time and network of corporate douchebags it has become.

Poilievre’s “Canada is broken” message is weak tea. How is this leadership? Who does this speak to other than the Freedom/Convoy crowd? What we need now strength and unity - something we are not seeing from the CPC. Vote for any party other than CPC and we may stand a chance #cdnpoli

The fact that Musk backs Poilievre should be a wake-up call to all Canadians and be seen as a direct threat to our democracy. #cdnpoli

The fact that Poilievre and the Cons are changing the dial to find a new message speaks to their lack of understanding what the legitimate issues and challenges are for most Canadians. A platform built on hyperbole with an intentionally uninformed leader will not move us forward #cdnpoli
Unlocked | Poilievre is pivoting to a 'Canada First' message at a Feb. 15 rally in Ottawa—a significant rebranding effort regarded as the unofficial kickoff for the next election campaign, say some senior Conservatives.
‘Canada First rally’ expected to be major rebranding of Conservative campaign, say senior Tories
The Conservative Party is encouraging attendees of the Feb. 15 ‘Canada First rally’ to ‘wear red and white clothes in honour of our nation’s flag,’ according to an RSVP email sent to party members.

I know this was misattributed to Werner Herzog, but it still rings loudly in my mind : "Dear America: You are waking up as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of your people would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches." #Antifa

I don’t think most Americans understand just how mad the average Canadian is right now. Trump, with his idiotic act of economic aggression has managed to do something no Canadian leader has done for a very long time - he is uniting our country. #cdnpoli #tariffs

What a mess - at first glance it looks to be a firm and measured (and immediate) response. I hate that so many people are going to suffer all over the continent - all because of a deranged President and his cult, but I’m glad Canada is responding like this🇨🇦🇨🇦#cdnpoli

The Tariff Act of 1930 was designed for protectionist trade. It imposed high tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods which led to retaliatory tariffs from other countries.

Why am I telling you this?

In case you're ever asked "what were the key contributors to the Great Depression?"

As a Canadian, I’ve seen U.S. protectionist policies bring about tariffs that impact and hurt our economy (lumber and steel for example). The tariffs now proposed by the Trump regime will prove to be catastrophic on both sides of the border. This is an act of aggression against a friendly nation.
