People say "Trump's a mob boss" or "Trump's Mussolini" but I think he's even more atavistic than that. He's an anglo-saxon chieftain (or would like to be). He wants government by "gift-stool". To rule by receiving tribute from foreigners and gifting treasure to his loyal retainers. See tariffs.

A meme I made in a fit of 'let's get murdered for shits and giggles'. Enjoy.

This morning I was thinking about Trump 'probable' worst case scenarios we should actually care about (eg not WW3 because dead). One possibility was UN withdrawal, ie Trump goes full Bircher. NATO withdrawal seemed unlikely to me because US arms dealers would hate it. But then I see this. Lunacy.

This will never happen again, I’m not even sure it ever has before, so forgive me the big noting. <insert trumpet noises> I have the lead stories in both current issues of Aurealis and Andromeda Spaceways. Gotta celebrate the (rare) wins.

I see a lot of this kind of messaging...but surely one of the reasons the US never previously demanded Europe "gun up" was to avoid them becoming a power block capable of challenging the US. Trump pushing the EU to defend itself might turn out to be be a "careful what you wish for" scenario.

The finding out proceeds at breakneck pace. Still a couple of months until he's sworn in and the world is already trembling on the precipice of all out trade war. Amazing.

Zee is the human-chimp hybrid offspring of a secret Soviet experiment (illegal immigrant!). He's prone to fits of violent animalistic rage (biting, punching, kicking, general mayhem). He has rules, but they are his rules, and don't have much to do with, you know, the law as such.

Date yourself by quote posting a picture of your first computer. (Family got one of these when I was about 9 or 10, cassette tape drive and all.)

It's the 2040 election. The NRApublican candidate takes the stage in a mech suit with 13 layers of reactive defence. A hailstorm of bullets, RPGs, and kamikaze drones greet each simple declarative statement. The event is covered by the NYT as: "Candidate Gives Firey Speech".

This is pretty silly quote from Sam Altman. If #AI really is doing 95% of the knowledge jobs in 5 years, then there will be no point in marketing as 99% of people will be spending all their time rummaging through garbage bins in a postapocalyptic hellscape.
