Disabled people are not broken. The system is broken. Disabled people are not the problem. Ableism is the problem. The foundations of our country are built not just on systemic racism and misogyny but also on systemic ableism. We are equally oppressed under the law.

Against all odds, we've made it to the end of the year. The longest year of all time, but we made it. I didn't have a particuarly topic to talk about, so we wrap the year with this pointless episode. Available on your favorite podcast platform or visit badattitudespod.com. #disability

People with disabilities or chronic illness carry a LOT. We often hide how much we carry to keep from bringing people down. (There's no bigger Karen than someone who thinks disabled people shouldn't complain so much.) Some days, it all gets really heavy. Remember what we're carrying.

I asked my Threads followers about their experiences with microaggressions as disabled people. This episode is a collection of some of their responses.

For the record, the non-disabled spots are everywhere else. They're EVERYWHERE. You don't have to take ours!

(Also, every month is Straight Pride Month. Shut up.)

Why do people think my wheelchair looks like an armrest or a banister? You DO realize I'm a person, right? Right?!

Sir Anthony Hopkins is making headlines for a quote regarding labels for diagnoses like ASD, ADHD, and OCD. But, actually, those labels are quite powerful.

This is true even if you're not disabled or chronically ill. Running yourself into the ground helps no one. It is important to allow yourself to rest. Recharge. Reset. You must take care of yourself if you want to care for others, and you must take care of yourself to maintain your well-being.

If you're neurodivergent and you've ever considered starting an Etsy shop or a small business, this is the episode for you! My guest, @kaybowzie.bsky.social , and I discuss tips for neurospicy business owners and the general state of being a creator. Available on your favorite platform!

Like everything, disability exists on a spectrum. Not everyone who is disabled needs a mobility aid. Not everyone who uses a mobility aid needs it all the time. Not everyone who looks healthy is healthy. Whatever you think disability looks like, it looks like so much more.

A friendly reminder as you set out to trick-or-treat later today: Disability is not a costume. Just like you shouldn't appropriate another's culture for a costume, you shouldn't appropriate another's disability.  Disability is a lived experience, not something you can take on and off. #halloween2025

I've been watching Grey's Anatomy like, forever. Because that's how long it's been on TV. And Grey's has never particularly shied away from disability-oriented stories. But in this one case, they went with the most devastating outcome, and I have to ask why? badattitudespod.com #disability

"Looking sick" is not an accurate reflection of someone's health, especially when it comes to chronic illness. Never assume that because someone doesn't "look sick," they aren't hiding a world of pain.

As controversial as it may be, this is a hill I will die on: Pregnancy is not a disability.

Of course, there's nuance, but comparing pregnancy and disability minimizes the disabled experience. That's what we're discussing this week. Whether you like it or not.

Disabled and chronically ill people don't WANT to constantly say no to or cancel plans. We often have no choice because we can't always predict how we'll be feeling from one day to the next. Don't stop inviting your disabled or chronically ill friends, because we live for the times we can say YES!

Everyone should have access to the medical care they need. SHOULD. From lack of accessibility to lack of insurance to lack of medical professionals willing to take them seriously, many people are suffering without a diagnosis. Being able to access a diagnosis is a PRIVILEGE.

In another move to demonize the autistic community, the Trump administration has announced that Tylenol is the culprit, with very little evidence to back up the claims. I discuss the announcement in this week's episode, as well as the suspicious circumstances surrounding the whole thing. #Tylenol

Disability does not make us incomplete, diminished, or damaged. It makes us DIFFERENT. And different is a Good Thing. Disabled lives are fulfilling and happy and full of joy. Disabled lives should not be judged by non-disabled standards.

I don't trust these three men to keep a plastic houseplant alive, let alone be in charge of the healthcare of the American people. And yet, here we are.

In this week's episode, I'm discussing a new program to introduce AI claim denials to Medicare. badattitudespod.com #Medicare

This week I'm talking about a new Medicare pilot program that will see AI making decisions about claim approvals and denials. I say this a lot in this episode but what could possibly go wrong?

A bad attitude is NOT a disability. For some of us, it's just a way of life. Which is worse? Your disability or your attitude? 😈
