My daughter told me the kids on her bus had a swearing competition, and I replied that given how much time she’s spent in the car with me I expect her to win the next one. She was initially shocked but agreed. Then we discussed how to leverage the shock value of only swearing occasionally.

We have a chicken named Simon. She was originally Saskia, but as she grew her comb we thought she was actually a rooster and changed her name. Then she started laying eggs and we weren’t changing her name again so Simon it still is.

She’s a true crime fan, and my theory is that she reckons she’s smart enough to get away with murder and decided to prove it. Totally in character that she also thinks she’s smart enough to testify at her own trial and think it will get her off the charges.
