Gen X she/her Oklahoman, too much online. I love books, history, food, travel, music, art and ideas. Agnostic socialist with a perplexing mystical streak, Unitarian Universalist, polyamorous introvert.
Ground up with a whole orange and put on top of yogurt with walnuts or almonds.

My Muslim ex husband and his daughter live in Texas. We haven't spoken in years but they don't deserve a governor like this. This makes me feel sick. I also say fuck white racists.

If most people were right about which things to be concerned about, we wouldn't be in the state we are in now.

As someone who has felt misunderstood so often, I can say that someone is going to criticize whatever you do, and sometimes it's just best to ignore them. I went to the No Kings protest and so many leftists sneer at that, but I know why I went and I feel good about it and that has to be enough.

I grew up Southern Baptist and I know intimately well how much they suck. I wanted my kids to have nothing to do with them.

I'm so glad someone else recommends Dorothy Dunnett. Reading her was life changing for me. The one literary pilgrimage I've taken was to Bruges to visit the early sites of the Niccolo Rising books. I don't know if I like the Lymond books or the Nicholas books better.

Anything by Jennifer Cruise, and the series she writes with Bob Mayer are always fun. Jenny Colgan's books are good, but if you stretch the idea of romance, you can include my very favorite author of all time, Dorothy Dunnett. I'm an extreme Dorothy Dunnett fanatic. I've read her books repeatedly.

The one box I don't check off for autism is the food category. I love all different kinds of foods and I crave different things on different days. My oldest child has all the food issues, though.

The last time I was in Paris, which was a while ago, I had something called a coupe morello which was delicious vanilla ice cream with cherries in sauce . I think I moaned as I ate it.

My oldest child was just officially diagnosed with ADHD, but the therapist said they are most likely autistic, too. I would bet money that they are, but since there's no medication to help autism, the therapist didn't do an autism evaluation.

I think being stupidly honest was a major problem for me all the way around. I think it might have been a problem anyway, but being punished when my parents thought I wasn't being honest and then being expected to know when I was supposed to lie was a hard thing for me to understand.

One thing I consistently did was freeze and panic every time someone asked me how I was doing. I wanted to be honest but I knew that never went over well. I think I'm particularly bad at masking because it never occurred to me to say what other people said when asked that question.
