There are definitely some downsides (it's an island, travel off/out of it is expensive) but overall my life is 100 times better in Oz! It was easier for me/my fiance since it's just the two of us, with kids it would definitely be more difficult.

I moved away from the US in 2018 (to Australia) and honestly I continue to be grateful I was able to do so since the US really does appear to have gone downhill since then.
