Instead Chip (Ldb1) is recruited by Zelda without affecting the pioneering function of Zelda but rather recruiting CBP to establish H3K27ac to regulate gene expression.

Instead Chip (Ldb1) is recruited by Zelda without affecting the pioneering function of Zelda but rather recruiting CBP to establish H3K27ac to regulate gene expression.
Optogenetic depletion of Chip (Ldb1) with high temporal precision uncovers only an hour window in embryogenesis which is critical for viability despite Chip being ubiquitously expressed. In that window, which overlaps zygotic genome activation, Chip (Ldb1) does not have an architectural role.
