This reply is a non sequitur when it comes to your post. But thank you very much for your book, “Drive Into The Gap.” I read it for the 2nd time. It hits home! My best friend of 75 years is mired in Alzheimer’s. And your father‘s trials are his. Clearly, trouble shared is troubled halved. Thanks!!

And how do we do that, without some of our young men and women soldiers dying in the process.

Admittedly that’s true. I have since learned about him. He does know about baseball, so I apologize for my statement, I was upset; but his knowledge makes his lone vote even more incomprehensible. He votes for Utley and no one else. I have no idea what he is trying to prove by doing that.

This is a churlish, clownish vote. By your ballot, you’re suggesting that Utley is more deserving than Ichiro. I’m quite sure you are basking in all of the attention you intended to get from casting this ballot. Candidly, I could not care less about your Pulitzer Prizes. You know 0 about baseball.

Some ass thinks he is making a point by not voting for him. The only point he is making is that he is, in fact, an ass.

For me, it’s a vague reference. In checking him out, while he did only have 737 hits in the bigs, he did have a lifetime.285 average. That should have given him more than the 8 years of the Majors he enjoyed. Based on the somewhat limited number of games played each year, injuries were an issue.

Loved Nick and Nora Charles. Classic and classy duo.

Sadly funny. Ever sadder because it’s true.

It is so wonderful to share that excitement and pure joy. Merry Christmas.

From his prior comments, i thought he hated losers and Lake is the consummate loser.

Like the idea very much and well performed.

Cards and kids.

Like soup and sandwich.

Go together.

That infamous foot may trip him up.

I couldn’t agree more. I never really liked him before. But after this, he represented to me everything and everyone who was cruel, insensitive, demeaning and unkind. And so many people, too many people, inexplicably gave him a pass on this. For me, he was toast & nothing he said would change that.

$120 million for a starter who rarely goes more than 6 innings. And who over a 9 year career has had one season where he won 21 games and one season where he won 14 games. Other than that, he has never won more than 8 games. And has pitched over 129 innings in a season just twice. You can have him.

I believe the lay definition of insanity is defined as doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.

Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting that except for Maddux and Sabathia, everyone else could bring it and everyone is or should be in the Hall.

Mark Lemke.

Another great work of art. Tim. And doing it while representing a good and kind man. First rate, my friend.

Especially when the strike zone extends 6 inches beyond home plate. A very difficult task made virtually impossible.
