This is terrible news for all freelance translators who have been using (and financially supporting!) MemoQ over the years. Very bad move from @memoq.bsky.social

Not sure what to think about this announcement by #memoQ. I prefer to have my texts, TMs, and term bases on my own computer, not on a web-based platform (that could be used to feed MT tools). And I prefer not be dependent on an internet connection or on browsers that may not always be compatible.

There's a once-great localization agency currently struggling to assemble a loc team for a huge high-profile project offering rates to the tune of €0.056 translation, €0.026 review and €25 hourly for FRENCH.

Ils ont bien raison de s'inquiéter. Comme les traducteurs d' enchairetenos.org et bien d'autres, les initiatives se multiplient, et c'est très bien. Une seule solution : être unis contre l'avenir peu reluisant que nous promettent des technophiles peu scrupuleux.
Le Syndicat Français des Artistes Interprètes se mobilise et alerte sur l'utilisation de l'IA Générative dans le cinéma, la production audiovisuelle et aussi le jeu vidéo.
Le syndicat organise une assemblée générale le lundi 27 novembre à 19h à la bourse du travail à Paris.
