I somehow completely avoided any mention of the Flood in-game until then. My first ever Xbox game was Reach, I got ODST not long after, played only the first couple levels of CE Anniversary, and got 4 and 5 on release. No idea how that happened.

I always felt it was weird that conservative talking heads unanimously do that too. Can’t tell if it’s a genuine lack of knowledge on their part, peer pressure to conform, and/or a deliberate attempt to obscure its actual meaning and make it sound like a group with foreign origins
