I do shit on set and play games sometimes
A game is pointless. The code of the game is not the rules of the game. Rules emerge from playing the game. What is in the game cannot be clearly discriminated from what is game adjacent.

the problem with digital compared to film in the context of independent filmmaking is you have to reinvent the wheel to make the photography recognisable as suitably "cinema". And directors/DOPs being unwilling to educate themselves on visual perception makes everything on set painful.

One of the most anticipated upgrades in recent years, never released on VHS/DVD, here's a link for the restored version of Chantal Akerman's PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL IN THE LATE '60s IN BRUSSELS (1994).
English subs resynched for this rip included.

It is almost impossible to discuss filmmaking with most people, cause they won't ever recognise that there are aesthetic facts. For some reason the idea is highly subversive.

I feel so many similarities between breakdance culture and the fighting game community:

- Grassroots communities that are constantly on the edge of commercialization

- Dominated by Black people and Asians

- Red Bull is there

All of these small changes they made with everything didn’t seem like a big deal to me in isolation but they all add up when you’re experiencing it all in totality

Not denying the dexterity and physical ability required. But so much of this shit is just information

Every time I figure out another nuance of how bullet patterns work, I find myself thinking less about “pressing buttons better” and more about just understanding whats happening

Working in IT again and i've started blaming every issue on ai for my users to just fully sour that well forever. Something in Windows not working? Its ai. Your Quickbooks not loading? Probably ai. Really just get the normies to associate ai with things being bad.

J'aimerais évoquer une notion peu connue dans la chaîne d'input lag du jeu vidéo. La composante aléatoire (ou "jitter") qui est quasiment toujours absente dans les définitions ou les mesures.
