Thank you. Resonant. Going to dig into this book again. I set it down, oh about ten years ago, unsettled by something in the tone. Undertone. I suspect it’ll pitch match now that faint ringing left by 2020, 2021, 2022… 🍂🪾

Has a more pathetic human ever existed? This is his gift to humanity? Just insane loser stuff.

OG Search was beautiful. One of humanity’s great achievements. I hate AI that much more for the fullthrottle enshittification of Search. It had already gotten bad but, my god, what a wasted gift

In our hour of greatest need, you have failed so completely. Retire from public life in your disgrace and incompetence.

Yes but then they blame it on populations furthest from power, and their voters believe them.

Not that censors are particularly concerned with being evidence-based, but I did recoil at the thoughts of these visualizations being used in entirely other chilling ways.

Don’t go, Lori. We need everyone who values and has experienced freedom to light the way for the next generation who aren’t going to know it shines brighter than any gilded ballroom. Bring it as scorn if you have to. We need every truthteller

The image was surprisingly hurtful. That’s our house.

Similar things could be said about the research industrial complex and we just gutted that.

We don’t have to organize society around death dealing as a central concept (or discipline and punishment if you want to look at the prison industrial complex/ICE/policing).

Everything is a choice.

How the sausage gets made=details most ppl don’t want +won’t agree on.
Start, like a household budget: what are our shared priorities? What do we have to have?

Shelter
Food
Clothing
Healthcare
Education
Jobs
Childcare
Clean environ

Oh–now the Pentagon budget can’t be larger than most countries’?

This was my sign.
It’s not savvy to accept corruption. It’s corrupt.

Plus we now have evidence that change can be dramatic so why NOT build the solutions–like universal healthcare–we want?

When so many jobs have been eliminated and so many flailing systems broken now beyond repair, I think even moderates are going to say – ok let’s rebuild radically w the good stuff

We do it for ourselves. Because being in the company of many other people who care is to remember that we can be good and kind even under oppressive systems. We can show up for one another.
