There was the Thanksgiving where my aunt checked on the turkey at the first timer, turned off the oven (maybe it turned itself off, it was fancy) and then we all wondered why it was taking forever. Eventually someone realized.

My dad was hosting and asked for any dish requests. I mentioned canned cranberry sauce, and he said nope, he's doing a home-made version, that canned stuff isn't touching his table. So I showed up with my own can, complete with googly eyes, and sat it next to my plate as my plus one.

It's so good to be able to worry less about it! The worst of the treatment is well over.
