Just someone who likes games, really.

#14: Mario & Luigi Brothership

While I found the game enjoyable, it does have noticeable pacing issues that can get annoying, and dragged down the experience to a good degree.

That said, there is a very good M&L game at its core and I'm hopeful that lessons will be learned for the next game.

#12/#13: Another Code Recollection (Switch)

Two Memories: Found the story and puzzles good, but left wanting a bit more, even knowing it was a DS game at first.

R: The story was a lot more engaging. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was quite good.

Overall, I liked this version, barring a few quicks

[#11: Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch 2)

While not my first time playing this game, this new version helps improve the frame-rate and makes what already a great game to play even better. And can't complain about more content on top of it.

Gotta love when you can get away with silly antics like this

[#10: WarioWare (NSO)]

Having gotten into Gold years ago, it was interesting to see where the series started from...

...and find out how the series has always been so weird.

[#9: AI - The Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative (Switch)]

Overall my favourite. Can't exactly explain why I love it of course, but I was not prepared for the direction the story went. It's unlike anything I have experienced before.

[#8: No Sleep for Kaname Date (Switch 2)]

Couldn't hold off and got the mid-quel, just to be a different from most people.

While not the strongest case, it certainly has the funniest moments from the series and I couldn't stop laughing.

[#7: AI - The Somnium Files (Switch)]

After hearing so much about this from my friends, I finally dipped into this series. All I will say about this game is...

Kaname Date's a bitch and I want him dead (affectionate).

(On a serious note, it's worth experiencing.)

[#6: Deltarune Ch. 3 & 4 (Switch 2)]

Toby Fox dragged me into his wacky world years ago and I continue to not try to escape it. These 2 chapters were amazing, both in their own rights and together with the rest of the overall story. But I'm afraid of what chapter 5 will do. Very afraid...

[#5: Ace Attorney (Season 2)]

Compared to season 1, this felt more focused and higher quality, but I still wouldn't recommend the anime overall as an alternative to the games, as I feel like it relies a bit on people having played the games.

But I'd say as a series fan, it is worth watching.

[#4: Ace Attorney (Season 1)]

Decided to watch this on a whim, as I was in the mood for a replay of the series.

Overall, I feel that this is more for the fans than newcomers and it's certainly not the most highest quality anime out there, but it was fun to watch this overall as a long time fan.

[#3: Professor Layton and the Lost Future (DS)]

Overall, I can say that I'm liking this series a lot for the puzzles and the vibes and this one ain't no different.

But... the story here... made some... choices...

Would still recommend it.

[#2: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (PS5)]

While I will say 7 has the better story, 8 has by far the better gameplay and I was enjoying myself so much whenever I was playing.

But what I love most is the dynamic between the party, and I only hope it gets better and better as the series continues.

[#1: DanDaDan (season 1)]

There's only one thing that can describe this show...

What the ever living fuck... (affectionate)

Between the of the wall comedy, interesting character relationships and some great animation, I would say this show, flaws and all, hooked me very hard and I want more!!!

[18# Like a Dragon: Gaiden 2023 (PS5)]

And to round up my last game of the year, this game was quite a pleasant journey. Short for series standards for sure, but worth playing. Kiryu's new fighting style was great, the substories I got to was fun and the game is solid all around.

[17# Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (DS)]

Overall, a big improvement over Curious Village with a better flow in terms of easy puzzles and difficult ones. And that's before I mention the better presentation.

However... I can tell this series loves it's ridiculous twists, doesn't it?

[16# Shadow Generations (PS5)]

Having playing Sonic Gens. a lot before, I can say that I enjoyed this a lot for simply being more of that game. And while I'm not much of a Shadow fan, I enjoyed this story for what it offered. Only gripe is some odd choices for levels, but far from a deal-breaker.

[15# Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (Switch)]

After many years of hearing about this game being amongst the best in the series, I'm very pleased to finally share that opinion. This game gets so insane from start to finish and I was just in shock from the story. It's now one of my favourite AA games.
September 27, 2024 at 5:33 PM
[14# Ace Attorney Investigations (Switch)]

I will say that in terms of giving more involved investigations to the series, this game set a great foundation. But as a game, it has it's high ups, but a lot of downs, and could have trimed certain parts, but playing as Edgeworth makes it worth the time.

[13# Splatoon 3 Side Order (Switch)]

After having fallen out of 3 for around a year, this mode managed to bring me so much that I even completed it with all the weapons.

Chaotic, unpredictable, all the stuff that makes a rougelite fun to me. And the story content was neat for how little there was.

[12# Celeste (Switch)]

After having had some rather serious thoughts in the last few days, I couldn't have played this game at a better time. Short and to the point with it's message and fun, though difficult platformer, but that's the point with this game, so I can't fault it for that.

[11# Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS5)]

Compared to Kiwami 1, this remake felt a lot more polished. I loved a lot between the narrative, some very silly substories and the amazing DE graphics, but felt that the minigame variety was a bit lacking and some bosses got on my nerves.

That said, it's a great time.

[10# Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS)]

As someone who likes a good puzzle, this series looks like it will be quite fun to me and I look forward to the rest of the series.

For this game, an interesting start to the series even if I can tell it was the first in terms of pacing.

[9# Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch)]

I'm glad to say that this game didn't disappoint me after many years of hearing it's praise.

It was just joyful from start to end with a good battle system that I now see how it's great for beginners.

Would recommend this to anyone.

[8# Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)]

This game has left me joyful over the improvements from Remake and it's fantastic moments, but it has left me confused and bewildered for what's to come in the future.

Only time will tell at this point, but I am for sure excited.
