Today the first of them laid a (rather small) egg, the pale egg on the group of 3 on the left

One of my younger chooks laid an egg today!!
Judging by the colour, I'm going to guess it was one of my australorps, they apparently lay lighter brown eggs.
I'm hoping we'll be seeing other other young girls join in soon!!

Cyclone Koji was named this afternoon and is already a category 2 storm.
It's now tracking further south, and expected now to cross the coast at about Ayr, 40 mins south of me, probably around 4am AEST

It rained a bit last night
Lily passed away today.
I only had her a few months, and I don't know what killed her, I found her in the run this afternoon when I went to check on them while it's raining hard here.
Very sad to have lost her, she was beautiful

They are not perfect, but last week I finished setting up the 2nd chicken run, each housing 6 hens and a rooster, to keep them safe from harm - and to stop my roosters from fighting each other.

Two more dragon fruit flowers appeared overnight.
Apparently they only flower for one night, and you can see the remains of the first flower just to the right of the top one
