There are a lot of books that people read in high school that I didn't - this is one of them. I like how hopeful the ending is.

It wasn't the smoothest reading (many pauses for a few days, one for about a month) but I finished the Emily Wilde series. I really enjoyed them - a different take on Fae than romantasy takes, and I adored Emily and Wendell's relationship.

Ringing in the new year in the best way - by blowing up the Death Star at midnight precisely.

I didn't click into the article, but I wonder if it included any creations by @scalzi.com

Finished The Priory of the Orange Tree yesterday - and really enjoyed it! It's long enough that I'm counting it for this slot - and got some fun gift labels! Excited to see what's in more of these slots.

Book 3 of vacation: ✅ done
I really really liked this one - it's a book about stories and fantasy and I think this one is going to stick with me.

Next book is 800+ pages, so I won't be finishing that one on vacation.

Book 2 of vacation: ✅ done
I've had this on my TBR for a while, bought it in May, and brought it with so that I'd finally actually read it. I really enjoyed it - the mix of magic with found family and the circus setting was a lot of fun.

A rather raw look at growing up Christian - especially Evangelical. I didn't recognize a lot of it from my own life, thankfully, but there were definitely points where it felt like @jasonkirk.fyi was pulling scenes / thoughts directly from my own memories.

If you don't have access to an ice bath, the water at a California beach will work just as well.

The sequel: sleeping on a backpack cooler. Because why not.

I saw a friend post about this and thought it'd be fun - maybe read a couple things I wouldn't normally think to pick up. These two challenges are going to be the hardest ones - I can't think of a never-read genre off the top of my head, and I regularly read books that are pretty long...

He has cat beds. He uses them often. He also loves the human beds. And yet here he is chilling on the paper towels.

Whenever people ask who my favorite Disney Princess is, my answer is that Belle is my Spirit Princess. And this is a very large reason why. There's a handful of short stories in there and some novellas, but I am my Papa's granddaughter and a rather voracious reader.

These books have similar premises, yet one was published in 1992 and the other in 2011. The difference in how things are described to the reader is fascinating.

We beat Puzzles for Clef last night! Here's the various notes I took for myself while playing. My personal fave is the logic puzzle (2nd pic, far right) - partly because I love logic puzzles, and partially because my solving of it looks absolutely like the scribblings and ravings of a mad person.

@sickoscommittee.org maybe we need to stop making fun of Cam Rising - if SEC Network is to be believed, Drew Lock was at Mizzou for 13 years.
