I cannot believe I’m dependent on this absolute clown show of a political party.

I feel like I’m watching someone struggle to put a square peg in a square hole. It should’ve been a layup in 16, a layup in 24, and a layup in 26.

“Sorry, best I can do is a 3rd generational bag fumble.”

Non-lawyers don’t understand how blistering these tepid-sounding rebukes actually are. Judges are restrained when calling someone a liar, esp a witness or prosecutor for the gov. It’s a career-killer (normally), and can impact other existing and pending prosecutions. These are scathing criticisms.
From the law community on Reddit: Federal judges caught the U.S. government providing false info in over 35 court cases. Sworn declarations. Falsified records. Repeated lies. This isn’t just sloppy, i...

I can’t say I have ever intentionally watched any late night talk show… but I did tonight.

That was also my favorite gag of the monologue. As a giga-nerd of a trial lawyer that loves to dissect and analyze the tactical application of rhetoric, that one was perfect. I could talk for an hour on it.

From a purely “tactical rhetoric” perspective, it’s concerning to see D’s focus on committee votes and rules hearings that diminish their (limited-to-begin-with) value every time.

One of the premises of the “DEI bad” argument that I rarely see questioned is the nonsense idea of a hypothetical “best” candidate. No such thing. Even if there were, there are so many variables per job nobody could reasonably figure that out. IMO, it truly puts the lie to the racism of it all.

New post-Chevron world. Killing Chevron will probably be far worse than killing Roe was.

This is only the start. Imagine a tobacco company, that sued the FDA/ATF in federal court in Tobacco Road. Now, the court will give equal deference to the “Smoking not bad” experts they bring to court.
