There are many organisations that support owner-trained assistance dogs. While these tend not to be ADUK-accredited, this is not a legal requirement for assistance dogs to be recognised under UK law.

There are also a couple of ADUK-accredited charities that provide assistance dogs for veterans living with PTSD.

Here is a list of ADUK-accredited charities that can help with assistance dogs for Autism.

Assistance dogs are trained to support their handlers. While they may wear jackets or harnesses, this is not a legal requirement. Read more from Dogs for Autism here: https://buff.ly/3rKRc4L

In the UK, Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK) is the main body accrediting assistance dogs. Dogs trained through ADUK organisations meet specific standards of training and behaviour, but legal recognition doesn’t require ADUK accreditation. https://buff.ly/4hXIlFq

Assistance dogs can support Autistic folks with daily challenges, offering calm and connection.
