a.k.a. Retired writer/publisher concerned about the 2025 elections.
I would posture its irrelevant "who" they work for...let alone private vs. public funding...? Many lobbyists are paid by the private sector. In turn, just another thing for my brain to munch on this weekend. If I find more details about federal lobbying and EGOD 😜, I'll post it here.

I thought about searching on this direction all week and your post was one of the first ones I read tonight. Correct me with facts if I am wrong, but isn't everything EM & VR are doing classified as "lobbying"? It's not like they are hiding their efforts to "lobby" govt in one direction or another.

As a side note, I just had someone remind me that there's even a huge difference between a government unit, let alone a business, using Fiscal versus Calendar years.

In other words, the #bsky platform may not be "video based," but when you publish a link to one of your videos, #bluesky still allows viewers to hit the "play" button on your content, so-to-speak. In turn, there is no "perfect" formula for everyone. Find something that fits your publishing habits.

Back in the day when I was reporting on local politics at a micro level, I would post my core content through my site, restricted comments and Facebook was my go-to for promoting the content w/YouTube for public meeting videos I still have full access to outside of YT.

Reverse your approach? Host your content on your own domain & then spread to other platforms of your choice. You stay intact as it relates to base content location regardless of any additional platforms & you still can encourage sharing of your content on other platforms irrelevant of objective.

I wasn't ever a regular Twitter user.😁 As a former web designer, I became accustomed to searching out answers to the smallest of things back in the early 2000's when browsers were battling to be the "best." Would look fine w/one & crap on another. 🤪 Glad it helped!

I realize this post is a little older, but I didn't see the answer I found when I had the same question. Kept hitting the comments icon & it invited me to post. Went to the engines & learned if you click to the right of the comments icon (no shadow when you hover if you have a mouse) they showed.

Also, the levels of corruption at the granular level (i.e. city hall, park districts, libraries, schools, etc.) all contribute to scaring away individual buyers. A building being a "money pit" is more than just taxes and rehab. Potential for excess fees and fines, let alone transfer stamp taxes...

The housing "shortage" is a multi-layered issue, w/some of already mentioned. Yet, as long as corporations continue to purchase housing, esp. in quantity, there is zero incentive for them to turn a profit. They capitalize the losses by offsetting profits elsewhere.

Because there is no hotline to report such an obstruction, there is now 1 known gov't unit in Illinois that successfully interfered with its election. So while we cannot go back and change what happened, creating a hotline in each state for local races can go a long way towards a #moreperfectunion
